IM|S Intelligent Media Systems AG has one thing in common with vitero: they are experts when it comes to developing tailored online communication and learning concepts. Thus it is quite reasonable to use the synergies that come along with such a partnership for the advantage of both companies’ customers.

As of now, IM|S Intelligent Media Systems AG offers its customers an integration of the virtual classroom by vitero in its LMS Classroom Manager Enterprise (CRM E). Thus, vitero can be completely administered by CRM E. In addition, there are further simplifications for moderators and participants. Users only need one account (for CRM E, ‘single sign-on’).

vitero and Wuestenrot receive e-Learning Award at didacta

e-Learning Award 2016

Together with vitero GmbH, Wuestenrot Bausparkasse AG has won the eLearning Award 2016 for their up-to-date management training programme in the category 'Management Training'!

vitero GmbH has already been successful with its cusomers' projects one year ago. The Ministry of Education Baden-Wuerttemberg won in cooperation with the Federal Employment Agency and RWE won the category 'Global Blended Learning'. In addition, vitero was present with a booth in hall 9 in the eLearning Summit.

As Europe's largest and most important education trade fair, didacta offers the perfect overview of the offers, trends and current themes from early childhood learning through to further education for adults, the new technologies and in the institutional sector.

The most important decision-makers from all fields of education came together in Cologne. Around 800 exhibitors from 38 countries presented new solutions for a wide range of fields of education to a large audience. In numerous forums, lectures, congresses, workshops and discussion rounds, the high-level supporting programme dealed with the current developments in the field of education and pedagogy.

Since March 2014, the SparkassenVersicherung Holding AG (SV) (penny bank insurance) uses vitero to train more than a thousand sales consultants from Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Thuringia and Rhineland-Palatinate. Within a short period of time, the consultants are trained online in teams of around 30 and take part in the 90-minute trainings from their workplace or home office. Overall, around 1,200 staff members have been trained in the matters of accident-, health-, and care insurance. 5 to 6 dates would have been necessary if these trainings had been conducted face-to-face within a major event. This is why the SV decided to realize the trainings online in a virtual classroom.
vitero as virtual classroom had been chosen for various reasons, as the consultant for e-learning, Oriana D’Aleo, tells: "The trainers' opinions were an important factor for us, we integrated them into the decision making process and experienced and tested different tools together. The possibilities to interact in vitero have been rated positively - we like integrating the participants with the point query. Another criterion was the user interface with the personalized avatars which contributed to a nice, personal atmosphere in the virtual meeting." Besides the trainings vitero is used by the SV for ad hoc software trainings and short meetings of the sales managers.

Best Practice: vitero at RWE

vitero's manifold fields of application have convinced RWE who after an intensive pilot project and evaluation signed a master agreement for their entire corporation. Now vitero is in use for webinars, webcasts, self-study units in the vitero Corporate Café, and moderatored workshops as well as in-house project-oriented further training.
In addition, vitero as virtual classroom plays an important role for the Global Blended Learning concept in technical divisions of RWE Power - also for the international market. With about 10.000 trainings per year and 350 types of courses it is a mammoth task which the corporate seeks to cope with a mixture of online and offline methods and tools.
In order to avoid doubled administrative efforts vitero has been integrated in the LMS Moodle via plug-in. In this way diverse live online trainings can be integrated into the training concepts via vitero, for instance, on technical subjects such as automation engineering, hydraulics, or technical security, as well as when introducing IT tools or even during teaching soft skills for executives and managers. Following this concept courses on the topic of 'Management - Communication' are supposed to launch in the summer 2014.

The criteria for the selection of an adequate virtual classroom system at RWE were usability, compatibility to existing standards, evaluation of core processes, data protection and economic efficiency. vitero could score in all of these categories. Concerning economic efficiency, for instance, the software payed off after 7 months. Also the personell effort has been scrutinized: with only 10 minutes for administration per course vitero is right out in front. One of the reasons why the courses are administered and held that efficiently, is the fact that the RWE trainers had been carefully trained. After TÜV Rheinland had trained them to become eTrainers they completed a vitero-specific moderation training.
Apart from the manifold fields of application, data protection played an imporant role in the decision made in favor of vitero. Wilhelm Stock, head of technical trainings at RWE, explains:"vitero was able to convince in all committees involved in the approval of software. Thanks to its enormous fields of application, the software's economic viability became easily apparent and was even proven during the pilot project. The outstanding ergonomics and the intuitively designed user interface delighted even initial sceptics. Concerning data protection it was important that vitero was able to fulfil our company's IT security standard easily."

vitero Update 6.0

vitero update, new functions

From now on, the version 6.0 is available for all vitero SaaS/cloud customers. Numerous new functions come with it.

In addition, a new module has been released, the vitero event manager. Registration is conducted via web form and can be published on any website or only shown restrictedly to selected users. Thus, organising a big event becomes child's play.

From December 8, 2014, our SaaS customers benefit from the new features of vitero version 5.8.

Selection of the most important innovations:

  • Audio controller can be opened via gesture bar: The menu for adjusting the playback volume and the microphone volume can now also be opened directly in the vitero gesture bar with the button ‘Set Volume’.

  • Enhanced loading process: The loading process was enhanced for files that have been made available in the Vitero Management System (VMS).

  • Enhanced file conversion for presentations in the Media Display: The automatic jpg conversion of files in pptx, ppt, odp or pdf format which have been made available for a session in the Vitero Management System was enhanced.

From June 28, 2014 vitero version 5.6 will be available.

Selection of the most important innovations:

1. New polling tool: With just a few clicks, multiple choice questions for statistical analysis can be created before or during a session. The participants’ answers are automatically analysed and the results are shown with a bar chart on the media display.
 
2. Enhanced possibilities for participant feedback: Participants can allocate up to 6 participant’s points (as well as squares, triangles) at the same time. Thus, multiple point queries can be realized easily in addition to single point queries.

3. New license module vitero webcam recorder: vitero webcam recorder allows for recording and replaying live webcam streams including sound. The webcam stream shown on the presentation area is recorded (including the voice of the corresponding speaker) and can be replayed instantly.

vitero wins the Innovation Prize-IT 2013


vitero was once again awarded with the INNOVATION PRICE IT as especially innovative e-learning solution and was included in the e-learning top-of-the-range list! Besides the outstanding result of the eLearning Journal's assessment this is already the second price with which vitero has been awarded during the last months. The INNOVATION PRICE IT attests the virtual team room an especially high benefit and a high functionality for all small and medium-sized companies. Among the experts of the jury are professors, scientists, industry representatives, and specialized journalists. The jury judges the submitted products according to a fixed criteria check list.

Among others, the criteria are

  • the innovative content,
  • the benefit and
  • the adequacy for small and medium-sized companies.


The INNOVATION PRICE IT has been awarded on this year's CeBIT in front of hundreds of guests from politics, economy, and the ITC industrial sector.

Announcement: SaaS Update to vitero 5.5

The obligatory update to vitero version 5.5 will be conducted on April 11, 2014.

Overview of innovations:

1. Color of participant’s text fields can be changed: Participant’s text fields can soon be displayed in 5 different colors. Thus, you can cluster with colors during card queries or assign features or categories. Every participant decides for himself which color to choose. The moderator can change the color of all text fields.

2. Webcam avatar pictures are saved on the server: when taking an avatar picture spontaneously in the virtual room with the webcam, the picture will be automatically saved in the Vitero Management System. This way, the picture can be used for following sessions.
